Since 1980, Historic Tyler has presented Historic Tyler on Tour, an annual tour of historic homes held during Tyler’s spring Azalea Trails.
This year’s Tour is scheduled for March 26-28, 2010. The Candlelight Tour and Party kicks off Historic Tyler on Tour on Friday evening, March 26. A tour of five historic homes from 7-9 pm will be followed by a party from 8-11 pm at the Azalea District residence of Becky and Jim Robertson, 322 West Fifth Street. The outdoor event will feature live music, wine and hors d’oeuvres catered by Dakotas of Tyler. Tickets are $50 each in advance or $60 at the door.
Day tours are offered Saturday, March 27, from 10 am-6 pm and on Sunday, March 28 from 1-5 pm. The five residences open during the Tour weekend include:

223 E. Second – home of Belinda & Steve Short
3031 Old Bullard Road – home of Venona & Thomas Clyde
1208 S. College – home of Patrice & Mike Carmichael
1312 S. Chilton – home of Victoria & Jerry Ashworth
Tickets are $10 in advance or $15 the day of the Tour. Purchase online below or at the Historic Tyler office at 815 S. Broadway or the Tyler Chamber of Commerce, 315 N. Broadway. On Tour days, a ticket booth will be open at Bergfeld Park, Broadway & Second Street.
Proceeds of the Tour benefit Historic Tyler’s preservation efforts in the community.
