National Preservation Month

The National Trust designates May as National Preservation Month. Events in Tyler kick off with a hands-on “How to Rehab” seminar on May 1, 2010, 1-5 pm, at Rick’s on the Square in downtown Tyler. Click here to view a flyer that provides more details about the event.

Co-sponsored by Historic Tyler and the Tyler Historical Preservation Board, the seminar will feature topics on paint, windows, and exterior preservation concerns as well as sessions on how to apply for Tyler Historical Landmarks, site markers, Half Mile of History and Certificates of Appropriateness. Tyler’s Historical Overlay and Conservation Districts will also be discussed. The event is free of charge, but reservations are requested by registering online below (preferred) or calling the Historic Tyler office at 903-595-1960. Historic Tyler will sponsor its annual Photo Contest in the Tyler Paper during May.
